Well funny thing happened the other day... I placed the key in the ignition and heard a chime(3chimes). I know it's normal but this is the first time I heard this chime... It hasn't chimed since.. It doesn't chime when the door is open.. It doesn't chime when I leave the lights on and I can drive for hrs with the turn signal on without a chime..
I never missed the chime before... But now that i know its there..I want/need to get it to work correctly..Anyone have any thoughts where I should start...
Mine does the same thing sounds cool but I'm not sure what I'm doing to make it chime, I'm thinking inserting key with door open is when I hear the chime or turning off engine with door open and key in ignition.
There is a chime module in the center cluster behind the Driver Information Center (where all the status lights are). It chimes for key in ignition with the door open (to remind you to take your key with you when you exit) and if the headlights/parking lights are on with the ignition off. It's the blue box on the right side of this pic:
