I picked up a mount for my iphone4 and use an app called TrackCam. You can also superimpose your route and gauges over the video when you are done. Seems to work pretty well.
I do want a GoPro.
One of the guys in my Corvette club made a camera mount for his C5. It attaches to the steering column and you can see the heads up display, which is really cool.
Agent 86 - not necessarily a 1080 thing, just a frame rate issue. The display updates at a different rate than the camera does. Creates a strobe effect.
You would think that the frames per second would be faster than the digits changing.
I now am assuming that the digits are always flashing, but our brains are slower.
The human eye/brain typically only handles about 24-27 frames a second (any faster and we can't see the difference).
Depending on the type of display they are always flashing - many many times a second.
