Why do I like the C4
1. Affordable
2. Modern (like all the power goodies and fuel injection)
3. Nice looking (kinda like they put an uncured C3 body in the wind tunnel until all the C3 shape was flattened out.)
I think the C1's are nice for the time they were built. The C2s are cool but I can't get comfortable in them. Steering wheels way too big and in general the C1s and C2s are brutal, rugged raw cars. At my age I enjoy the comforts of life.
The C3s are my favorite looking cars but ride on a chassis that was long in the tooth by 1968. Loved the coke bottle shape but my absolute favorites are the ones with chrome front and rear bumpers.
C5s and 6s. The butts are too big.
I'm not insulting anyone's cars. Just my personal opinion.
4. Good handling
5. Good performance
6. Great feel when driving one
As for the other generations, I like them all, but the C4 is still one of my favorites.

Plus it's modern enough, that you get cold air and a decent ride, a clamshell hood and a cool dash, great seats, decent ride quality, and stereo performance.
Lot's to like about a C4!!
I dialed in -.5 a degree of camber on all fours and zero'ed out the toe.
This thing is a very well balanced, wide tired, auto-x machine!!!

I love how low the car is.
The styling is timeless, people don't think its 20 years old. Clean, simple, and purposeful shape. Has a certain elegance to it. When your driving it the C4 has just enough shake, rattle(s), and roll to let you now this is a Corvette. Mine has a bit of rumble too.
The view from inside has the slightly bulged hood, peaked fenders, echo's of C3.
I get 30+MPG highway and runs 13.38@105 in the 1/4 mile on street tires. LT1's rule. So much torque EVERYWHERE!!! Not just down low, sorry L98 guys. Best truck motor ever built the L98.
Its very affordable, relatively easy to work on. A lot to love for sure.
The only thing better than a C4 is a C4 ZR1.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

C4's are the coolest Vettes of them all. Not everyone agrees...but that's my opinion.
I sold my 95 6 sp Z51 coupe to buy a new 98 6 sp z51 convertible and I really missed the "fell" of just sitting inside the 95...so I purchased a 35th ANC almost 2 years ago to regain that feel...
BUT ... The brute feel I get in my rear end plus the sounds from my C2 and my 72 C3's still put a huge smile on my face when compared to with my 88 or 98 and to be honest my 76 and 79 also... The C2 and 68-72 C3's are honestly what Corvettes are all about in my mind...
But as someone mentioned the comfort factor (or complete lack of it) after an hour behind the wheel in ANY of my older Corvettes I honestly have to get out and walk around for 10 minutes..they are very punishing on my old (68) body..
Looks...the C2..by far is my favorite followed by the chrome bumper C3's followed by the C4 then followed by the C5...then the C6 which I still have not warmed up to..so I never felt the "urge" to sell my 98 and buy a C6 ...
I guess to me at least each generation looses a little in the looks department or maybe I'm just not keeping up with the times...

Now that's funny. I've had so many low powered cars in my life including econo boxes and one 2.8 liter V6 Mustang II that I'm truely impressed with the L98. My C4 is simply fun and powerful compared to anything else I've ever had.
My C4 is the ony Corvette I've ever driven or even been in during my 59 years on earth. I'm a happy camper. My 90 C4 is also my first Chevy since my 79 Monte Carlo that had a 200 cubic inch V6 with 90 horse power. I'm sure an LT1 will impress me but I can't drive one until I'm ready to buy one. Otherwise my 90 will seem like junk.Did Chevy put the L98 in trucks?
BTW my 90 L98 gets 28 highway. 18.5 in town when I behave.

My friend has a 62. No power anything, no conveniences at all. The radio does work. The steering wheel is about 5" from my chest. No seat belts. It's a scary car. It does look cool. Sitting in the seat (new padding and upholstery) feels quite like a 65 Mustang. Hard seats and I imagine an hour of driving is enough between rest stops. He has the 327 4bbl carb and it is...how do you say...not brutal, archaic? Rough? How about unrefined. Raw is the word I think. I love looking at old cars but don't see me owning one quite that old.
I do like seat belts and shoulder harnesses. Collapsible steering colums, tilt, a/c, fine stereo, leather, power this and that, and I don't like the smell of carburated cars nor the smell of ethenol laced gasoline boiling out of a carb.
I remember as a teenager I liked the smell of gasoline and exhaust. I'm 59 and I guess quite spoiled. I never knew until I got my C4 that it had so many Cadillac type conveniences and equipment. 4 wheel anti-lock brakes, LPTWS, outside temp display even an air bag and not the one that sits in the right seat!
Power antenna? Way cool, never had one of those before. My boss has a 2010 Z06 he bought new. The price watered my eyes. He's single so he deserves it I guess. I like the center exhaust but the butt is too big.

Wow you got 50hp on us. You think you got low end torque? Try that truck motor you were just talking crap about. I also get 30 mpg highway. Great cars though both.
