Greetings All, I have recently purchased a 95 coupe which does not have the glass top, but I would like to purchase a replacement top from a parts vendor on line. However, I noticed that they come in various tints, the paint color of my C4 is Deep Red Metallic and wanted to get the GM correct tint that would have been on that color for that year. Any help appreciated and or vendor recommendation that would have good price and customer service. Thanks for the Help!
Thanks Red Dwarf, car only had painted roof, but I am thinking that Chevy gave the customer the option of tint upon original purchase, I just wasn't sure if GM pre-selected a tint, however, I hear that the blue tint has less of a UV (82%) protection vs. bronze tint (92%) which would save the interior. Thanks again!
My '89 also only came with the solid top, but I'm thinking the other colors were suggested based on the car's color. In your case a smoked or bronzed top. But I'd imagine you could get any color tint that you wanted.
Plus, yours won't be original anyway so get the one you want. If I ever get around to it I'm ordering blue, that color tint just looks better to me.
I may be in the same boat as my painted top is cracking. I have a big old Hokie paint job.
So what color would you suggest, and do any of you with the dark red paint have pictures of your blue or brown tops?

Since you have the solid top, just paint it back with the same color.
The blue and bronze tinted tops were for the transparant tops.
Looking out from the inside, the tint was either blue or bronze.
But looking at them from the outside, they both looked black.

I understand that. I should have mentioned that the top I had was blue tinted clear. And the previous owner painted it blue. When I got the car I painted it the orange and maroon of my alma mater. So the now painted blue plastic top is cracking and separating from the frame.
