Last night on my way home from a Cruise-in I ripped my front spoiler to pieces on a railroad track, now I have to decide what to do because my body kit hasn't been made for 23 years so getting an original isn't an option...This morning I removed the front spoiler to see how the car would look without it. Personally I don't think it looks to bad but I know you guys will give me honest opinions on this, so here goes...With out the spoiler I will probably have to get one of the original Corvette spoilers or "whatever there called" to help get air up to the radiator..I never really liked my front spoiler anyway because it stuck out to far in the front of the car and made it look to long..Also , removing the rest of the body kit isn't an option right now because it will leave holes and I don't have the money to fill the holes and repaint the car..Please let me know if you think it will look ok with just the original stock spoiler setup, and if not, what you think would work.....Thanks for your help....:.....WW
I am faced with the same situation. The Corvette I bought already had a body kit on it and when I took it all off (as well as bumpers, gas fill door ect to paint the car) there were of course holes, but also the panels underneath the doors, the original rocker panels, are gone. So removing the kit is not an option unless I buy new rockers. I am also using the original front spoiler and it is fine. Mainly because I need the frontend ground clearance due to a steep driveway. As far as opinions go, they are like a**h****s, everyone has one, especially on this forum (which is NOT a bad thing).
My opinion, use the original front spoiler, save your money for new wheels.... OPPS there goes that opinion warning I mentioned. cheers!
Your kit is a Greenwood, http://www.c5westonline.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1_3, The outfit sells a Greenwood clone. I can no longer speak to their quality but when I bought mine their QC sucked donkey dong. With that understanding you may me able to get the nose piece alone. Worth a try. Oh yes, IMHO car looks like someone cut its nose off.
Thanks guys for your replies.......I looked at all the spoilers for sale in the aftermarket today and couldn't find any I liked, so I'll probably go with the stock air dam. When I get the money, I may remove the body kit and have the holes filled and the lower body painted.....WW
