Sys light
On my 95 ,today I noticed a sys blinking light going on .it flashed 3 times then it goes back to reading the correct voltage or water temp.this happens every few minutes.The owners book said it could be electrical.could this also be a "security" light problem.the gauge in the car said it is charging correcting.this car is driven about once a week.Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? thank you

The number one cause of a flashing SYS light as you describe, is a low battery.
I don't think it has anything to do with security.
As you noted in the manual, it indicates an electrical issue.
Even if your charging system is working correctly, the battery could still be on its last leg.
Have the battery load tested and find out.
How old is your battery?
If you only drive the car once a week, do you use a battery tender when not in use?
A new battery solved this issue in my '96

Post codes by module for more help. I do agree with Rolla that low battery is most likely. But why not check the codes?

Thanks guys I will check tHe, battery this weekend,.the battery is around 3 years old and I never used a battery tender.i use the car approx one hour each weekend

Seeing where the car gets used very little you would be wise to invest in a quality battery tender, if not, this probably won't be the last time you run into this problem.

Battery was weak.i started the car after using it last Sunday and light was off.i had taken it to my mechanic and he said it was a weak battery.if it does not charge up I will replace it.thanks to all for the advice.
