Sometimes when I turn my 84 off it kinda sounds like it spits and sputers. The guy that had it before me said he was putting 87octane in it. I didnt ask why I persumed he was stupid. Could that be the issue ?? Thanks

Ya need three things for combustion; air/fuel/ignition. Fuel is either from leaky injector, or left over in the plenum (not likely). Ignition is from glowing carbon in the combustion chamber.
The seals around the injector ? Or the injector in general . And how to get rid of the carbon buildup ? Thanks for everyones input.
It would be fuel leaking from the injector into the throttle body. You have an 84 with the crossfire. Watch the injectors when you turn the motor off. If one is leaking, you can see it drip or spay for a few seconds. They sell a decarbonizer you can either put it in your fuel tank or slowly pour water down the injectors when the car is running. This is an old trick that will steam clean the inside of the combustion chamber and pistons. Make sure you pour it in SLOWLY.
