With winter storage I am already experiencing acute withdrawal symptoms. Especially when I read through the posts of those of you in the south who are still enjoying your Vettes. Up here in MN we have snow on the ground and the temp is currently 23°. If we're lucky, it will get up to a balmy 30° today.
If any of you southerners know of any good job openings in the plastics business...let me know. How nice it would be to live somewhere I could drive my Vette year round and maybe even have some curvy roads to drive it on.
It would probably be against forum rules for me to actually say how I feel about winter in the north.
I'm kinda done with mine, will give to daughter when she is 18. (9 now so no pics sicko's) My mom is moving to Florida so I'll be shipping it and storing it there for free.
Not to make you feel bad, but here in the SF Bay Area, it is in the 70's today. Just loaded my car on the trailer for a race at Sonoma tomorrow. Pull your motor or something to take your mind off the outside weather.
If you're serious, the Gulf coast is a hotbed of plastics industries. Louisiana, Texas....do some networking and I bet you could find employment in a warmer location.
We had some sunshine earlier and I figured to do a little work in the yard and then go for a Vette ride. And then it started to snow.....
Drove to work this morning at 4:00 am it was 51, left work at noon it was 74, top off and I work only 3/4 's of a mile from home. I corvette to work everyday, and have never seen snow on my way there.
My car was down for repairs last week and we had record high temps . Hope it's up and running next week because the forecast is dry and sunny. Feel sorry for you guys that have put them away for the loooonng cold winter.
I live in Wisconsin and I refuse to put it away till 1-1, It is a balmy 30 here but sunny. This car has never been driven on wet roads. My days may become numbered soon but she runs like a daily driver despite a few minor problems.
Our son stopped over, and while he was here I had to go to the store. He was behind my truck so rather than move vehicles I took the Vette. (Not that I needed an excuse!) It was about 35 degrees out and man, did it love that cold air! I could feel a noticeable difference, it really felt lively. Made me want to go for a longer cruise just to enjoy it!
aint many curves down florida way. I live in Indianapolis, cold here. Just bougth a set of headmans for the car, to darn cold to work on it.. come on down and help..i will buy the" cold" beer. I too, hate to have put the cover over my honey..sigh.
Not to rub salt in your wounds, but I did almost 300 miles in the 95 today. I think the more I drive it, the better it runs and the more I love it. I can't believe that this thing makes me laugh and giggle like a school kid.
I put mine up a few weeks ago. I agree, not driving it sucks. I was able to take it out yesterday and put about 40 miles on it. I've never had a car nice enough to store it, so this is all new to me. I really don't see how someone could own a car like this and keep it low mileage.
I bought my 96 this spring. This will be our first seperation. I have delayed winter storage as long as I can. The place I'm going to store it requires that I bring it by December first. I guess I have to drop it off Friday. I'm not looking forward to it at all by I wouldn't live anywhere else!

Have never owned a corvette i have sold or traded in with less then 150,000 or more on them, and thats from C3,C4,C5's. These awesome cars are meant to be drove. But I can see where snow and cold are not good for fiberglass though. Guess all that really matters is we have them, love them, and drive them.

I didn't think you got winter down there in Richmond? Or at least not enough winter to count...
