Could not do these for a C4 because of the way we store our tops. But what say ye, like or no?

I don't like it. Add it to the LONG list of "Cheesy" **** you can to do a 'Vette, to ruin it.
However, I can't see why you couldn't duplicate it for the C4. Why can't it mount ahead of the top, just like it does in the C6?? It's your car...go ahead and git'erdun.
