What can be put on the weather strip to save it. I just found a tiny crack in mine. You almost cant see it,

I fix small cracks with black silicon (Permatex Ultra Black is what I am using at the moment). Messy job but it seems durable and flexible enough to get by.

Good old, regular masking tape does wonders as far as keeping the silicone off of what surfaces should be kept clean.
Been using these items for years with great results!
