Default Ecklers

The weather was great so I put the top down and went for a ride. I wound up on our east coast of central Fl. So I went to Eklers.
I picked up a couple things for my car. The main thing I noticed was the lack of corvettes. In between the showroom and the big warehouse was a large parking lot that was full of cars. I would guess employees. But not 1 corvette.
Anyway a person could go nuts in the showroom, Like a kid in a candy store

That would be great to be able to put the top down and go cruising this time of year. Thats one of the few kinds of stores that I would really enjoy shopping, so with the cruise and Corvette parts it must of been a good day.

I have to replace most of the weatherstripping in my 90 coupe. Ecklers appears to have everything I need but their price is higher than other vendors and the shipping charge is a bit much. I don't mind paying the price if it is good quality. How would you rate them compared to other parts suppliers?

Jim: I know your feeling! I have been there twice. I have a good friend working there so we spent some time during our stay. Now consider that I live in Sweden which is NORTH of Europe. Quite a drive huh?

Ive had my 93 since Oct and ive bought 6 or 7 things from them no problems so far. I bought the hatch weather strip from them and my door weather stripping on e bay. Yes they dont give you a break on shipping ive asked them about that and they say they run a sale now and then? Corvette central is another place ive done well with. I guess it depends what the part is. Some things you dont have much choice and they know it. Dave

Thanks for the info. I checked out corvette central and although the weatherstripping is a little bit more money they state that it is either OEM or American made reproduction. That is important. Don't know about Ecklers.

I do most of my parts by mail, but shipping is getting to be a lot of money. If I drive to the coast I get to visit my son and grand daughters. My son and daughter in law both work for the sheriffs dept. over there.
So with the weather at 84 yes it was a nice ride.

Just got weatherstripping from them and it was a mixed bag. The b-pillar was US made and the top side pieces, but the front A-pillar and door pieces were asian. I ordered individual pieces so there may be more uniformity if you order whole sets. I don't think OEM rubber is being manufactured anymore so anything labelled OEM is NOS or reproductions (I've read the CRC stuff is good). As for fit and quality, I haven't been able to install anything yet but the quality looked o.k. as far as I can tell.

Been with the Sheriffs office 25 years here in Lancaster co. Im sure the made in America products are better and i do try to buy them, but sometimes i have to go with the cheap. I found the most important thing is the prep work. Ive worked on alot of old cars over the years and have replaced weather stripping or gaskets maney times, but this is my 1st vette. Dave

FYI, you might want to check pricing on Corvette America. They currently, thru 17 Jan., have 12% off their weatherstripping kits with free shipping for orders over $99.

Thanks for all the info. I actually spoke with Corvette Central who in turn gave me the number of the vendor they buy the weatherstripping from. When I talked to them he said that is imported but not from China. They use a hot weld corner as opposed to gluing and they have not had any issues. Besides, if for some reason it doesn't fit I can always return it. For $100 it seems like the best option even though a local Chevy dealer actually has one in stock but for $350. Thanks again.

I bought a complete kit for my 79 from Ecklers and not one piece fit right and still doesn't a month later, good luck.
