Default Convertable top

I am very new to this. I have a 1986 convertable. I want to know if there is anything I can use on the converable top to help preserve it and have it last longer. So far it is in good shape. Thanks for any suggestions.

This is pretty good stuff. You can also purchase a pillow or just roll up a beach towel to place into the fold in the rear plastic window as you put the top down. It keeps the plastic from rubbing against itself and causing scratches.

Another trick to help with loading/unloading the rear compartment is to measure the distance between the raised rear deck lid and the "folded forward" portion of the top's rear section. Cut a dowel to length and place it in there. This allows you the use of both hands for the cargo. I think I saw this at a car show once. I used an aluminum arrow cut to length along with a rubber cap on each end.
