Our '84 has a broken accelerator mount that I haven't gotten the energy to fix yet. It IS drivable, but not really safe ( I found out the mount was broken when I pulled out in front of a semi and couldn't find the gas pedal!!). Anyway, the battey went dead and refused to be revived. So tonight I finally got off my keester and bought and installed a new battery. (Don't tell the members of my local "Procrastinator's Club" or they might kick me out if we ever have another meeting!)
I reached thru the window and slipped the key in and turned her over for an almost instant start.
Now if I can get that new metal pedal mount installed.......
I got the battery cover back on, with minimal skin loss I'd like to brag. And the driver's seat is out and waiting on me to put the lower seat cover on while it is out. And I even found my gas pedal mount.
The procrastinator's club will be disappointed in me if they ever get around to reading this.
We took a three day weekend and drove to Amarillo for a steak and ended up driving into New Mexico to Russell's Truck Stop and Free Car Museum. They have a killer 58 'vette in there.
So maybe I can get the gas pedal mount installed this week.
