I like the C-5, but it does'nt feel like I "put the car on" when I got into it. I feel like I'm part of my C-4 when I climb in it. I guess I've got used to hopping over the high sills to get in the C-4. :)
Boys, Boys, don't you think your being a little harsh on the C5? I have driven one, and I have to say, I would love to have one, just can't afford it. I agree they may have some quality probelms that our cars do not, but you have to remember, the C5 platform is what currently 5 years old? The C4 in 1996 was 13 years old, I hope they had all the quality problems worked out by then. I love my C4, and wouldn't trade it for the world, but your damn right I would take a C5 if I could afford it. :yesnod:

Re: drove a C5 today.... (Vettegirl94)
I have one of each (C4,C5). I'm far from being in the "Monied gentry" (currently unemployed). The C5 is what it is and the C4 is its own car. I like them both and each has their own merits and faults. I had LOTS of warranty work on my C4 its first year. Stuff that should not have gone bad. I've had it 12 years now and am still not tired of it. My C5 has been trouble free with 17K miles on the clock.
C-5's, what year did they get it right?
Oil ring problems, steering lockup, rear end burn up, run flats.
No thanks, the more you really look at them the more problems you'll discover.
Besides all of the problems they're still ugly. How do they drive those cars with broken arms? They never wave.
C-4's are the last of the real cars. C-5's are toys for the monied gentry.
The C-6 will be worse.
Wow, that's quite a laundry list of issues with the C5. I'm glad you own a C4 and am happy with it. For me, all it took was getting into a C4 and then struggling (6'2", 230 pounds) to get out and sliding into a C5 to make up my mind. I felt too cramped in the C4. Geeze, tell us how you REALLY feel next time.
I drove my GS to the dealer then test drove a 2001 C5, seemed like less headroom and not any roomier at all. Needless to say, I like the body style of the C5 but to me it wasnt worth the payments, my LT4 seemed like it had more power too, although supposedly they are pretty equal? Go figure..?? JMHO
