a bit disapointed
A few days ago, before I got my plates, I decided to put the top down and drive out the road and back. And, being thorough, I had to try a burn out. Nothing, not even when I power braked it. My car is an L98 with 2.73s but I thought there'd be something. Oh well, I bought it to cruise, not to hot rod. It runs too good to be major but timing may be retarded way back. I just haven't had time to look into any of the little issues that are bugging me. I'll add this to my list of things to do.

ASR. Is that the thing that keeps the valet from ripping around in your vette? I wondered if it might be on. I have a FSM, I need to read up on it a bit tonight. I would have thought a 250hp motor in a 3000# car would be enough to get me into trouble. I'd like it to be something simple. I got my plates last Thursday and went back out Friday morning. I've been working 12s ever since. I hope to get to it Monday as I'm supposed to be off. I don't know though, you can hear the grass growing at my place. I hope you guys are right. I'll get my buddy involved. He has an 85 that he tinkers with and he's way better with motors. I've always been into detailing and paint. I won't see him till next weekend though. Too much to do. Thanks guys

I assume that you've just got the car...I also don't know if you put fuel in it ,or still running on what was in it already..If you car sat in someones garage for a few years your gas could be kinda dead..your computer may be turning your timing down to compensate...I see your from West Virginia, some HillBilly might have been running drip in it.LOL..Just kidding..I'm from The Wild Wonderful too...Enjoy your new car

I have the complete opposite problem, I have a hard time not spinning the tires on my LT1.

Check the timing as it may be significantly retarded. Be sure to unplug the brown wire by the distributor before you do this.
If it is not the timing then it is probably time for new plugs, wires, rotor and cap. I have a low miles distributor with an Accel coil for sale here in the parts section if you need it.

I bought my 85 in '01 and it wouldn't pull the hat off your head....
ran a best of 14.99 @ 90mph and would not brake torque to save it's life......
I think I must have had a clogged cat or something maybe too, but all said it was pretty tame.....
I fixed that in short order.......
