I have a 1986 Corvette and wonder if it would be OK to use premium gas that has enthanol in it.

Most gas has it now. Have at it. I use Shell or Chevron. Good detergent gasoline from both.

Thanks guys. When winter comes I do have a station that I can go to and fill with non ethanol gas. I have heard that if the car sits for a long time with the other stuff it can cause problems.

Pour in a bottle of Chevron Techroline gas treatment.

I may need to be corrected because I could be off base but I "think" with a factory tpi setup any rubber lines would be fuel injection grade in the first place and ethanol shouldn't eat them like the old school gas lines so ethanol gas should be fine as stated previously. I personally think that the burn-off fumes, etc. from ethanol gas has a lot to do with turning egr/evap/pcv hoses into a rubbery mush. Yers ago it seemed like they lasted a lot longer than they do today.
I have replaced fuel lines on V12 jags that ethanol gas ate up with better grade stuff and they look to be just fine some years later.

My under, which is standing is that the old Multec fuel injectors didn't like the ethanol. I'd dump them anyways for the newer Bosch III injectors. They are probably old and crudded up and they were a POS from the factory anyways.

How is that going to help any (potential) issues associated with ethanol??

OP, Run any brand of gas from a gas station that has a lot of turn over (fresh fuel), and out side "old injector issues", which are unavoidable regardless of fuel, you'll be fine.

If the gas has 10% to 15% ethanol in it you will be fine.

The only side effect is that your gas mileage will be slightly lower because the ethanol requires a richer mixture (14.5:1 vs. 14.7:1 for pure gasoline). This is well within the capabilities of the ECM and it will compensate automatically.

On the old Multec injectors the ethanol slowly eats away the epoxy surounding the injector coils, causing them to short out...The use of most injector cleaners will just accelerate the process...WW

Yes and some added info, these multec 1 injectors were just installed in 89-91's other years didn't have the problem as the coil windings were not in the fuel stream.
