Ive been thinking about this project for a long time but wouldnt mind even the compressor coming out. is it possible for an 84 to swap its ac compressor brackets to an 85? And at that point can u use the 85 pully to delete your ac? has anyone done this with there 84?
I used a doman 34157 ac delete kit and a a goodyear 4060872 belt. I tried the shorter belt with no delete kit but the belt ran on the pulley lip too much so I kept the 34157 kit on. Cost is about $30 from amazon. The belt I used is for the standard factory pulleys plus the pulley on the 34157. I had to file just a little area where the pulley was rubbing on the factory bracket, about a minute job .
the dorman part is for an 85 and i dont think that it would fit my 84. Is that what u used it on? think ill try removing both the smog and ac with the smaller belt. When doing this i understand u just tuck most the connections and zip tie out of the way but is there anything to do with mass air flow i think that there are some small tubes that have been re position near my air pump.
Why go to the trouble of installing later model parts so you can then buy a "delete" pulley when you can do away with everything
on the pass side as was done in the link I posted above?
