jackstand placement

Default jackstand placement

have not really looked under my car, just where should i place jackstands? i`m using 4, it`s bad enough finding a placing for the floorjack.

I usually place mine under the shocks on all 4 corners, that way the suspension isn't just hanging.

I usually do mine under the shocks as well. More than strong enough to hold the car and not hurt anything.

I jack at the jack points and put the jack stands under the frame as close as possible to the jack.

Me too. God knows I've had mine up on stands a few times over the winter.

I just stated this in a similar post. Jack the car under the mirror. This will lift the whole side of the car. Place jackstands at the jacking points. Repeat on the other side.

ahh! broke mirror off. just kidding, gave up on ramps for oil changes, i just slide them across garage floor and still can`t get under to drain an change oil filter.

Buy a set of the cheapest rubber floor mats you can find. I think the set I bought cost a wopping 7$ from Walmart. Put the floor mats under the ramps and, voila, they ramps will no longer slide.
