My 1988 Dark Blue Metallic
Decided to wash and wax (used Armorall butter wax) her this morning. Then used McGuire's auto detailer. Went out later in the evening and rebuffed. Came out pretty nice, but I wasn't all that impressed with the Armorall wax. Came out kind of splotchy but the detailer fixed it and really pulled a deep color for me.
Let me know what you think and what you guys feel is a good wax to use.

Thanks guys!
They're polished 17x8.5 fronts and 17x9.5, I'm thinking they're either 95 or 96. My ultimate goal is to bring her to off the line condition, except for the wheels. I don't love the cuisinarts. Otherwise, the spoiler is coming off and she's being repainted next year when I actually have the money to do it properly.

Beautiful! Don't see too many dark blue metallic C4's out there. I see you're in East Windsor Township. I used to live in New Hanover Twp. Quiet town, but I don't miss NJ at all.

That's what drew me to this particular one ... the color is one I've never seen before. Fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

Have to be honest, in the past few years with the amount of people moving in we're no longer fans either. But our youngest is 13 so here we stay for awhile until he's done with school. Then we're retiring.

Is that a Corvette color? Do you know what it is called beside dark blue metallic? I have a 94 that is also dark blue metallic and was wondering what the color is called. My color code says 41 which is black. So mine has to have been repainted in the past.

When I looked up the specs for 1988, it was called dark blue metallic with saddle interior. There were aprox. 800+ made with that color combination. And it's the original paint, except for the wing in the back, which is coming off next year when I repaint.

Thanks for the reply. When I was looking up that color, I came across some specs showing it was used a on lots of GM products up though 2004. Some called it Black Sapphire and code 28. My body man says mine doesn't look repainted except for the White stripe. Maybe code was wrong. Even the injector covers are this color.

I stick to what the pros use; Meguires or Adams.

except for not liking NJ. Life long resident and couldn't be happier. Where else can you ski in the winter, go to the beach in the summer, have horse country a few miles away and gamble till you hearts content and all within two hours.

i really do like the color!! for me though, i would have to remove the spoiler right away. the wheels i would sell and buy a nice set of oem 88 spec wheels. that would make the car for me personally.
the wax does look nice but the true test will be to how well it hold up during the summer months. its a broad topic when discussing care care as we all have our own personal favorite brands and methods. i think the method that you used made the paint shine well!! how's the interior??
