C4 vs Cobra
Ok I know that most Cobra replica sports cars are crazy fast and will do in most C4s without much of a struggle. As I pulled in for gas in the old 84 a guy in front of me had one of the nicer replica Cobras. All the gas station guys were getting all hot and sweaty over the car and I admit they do draw a crowd. I know how fast they are because my rich friend had one built in C.T. with a real 427 side oiler. I will be the first to admit, fastest car I was even in. All this got me thinking. How would a Cobra kit car (The better made ones) do on a auto cross against a C4 with the Z51 performance option? I know some of the guys on the forum own both a Corvette and a Cobra. How do they stack up against your C4?

The original A/C Cobras were designed for racing, not for Auto-X. I do some mountain runs with many replicas from San Diego, and they handle good around the twisties.

In the mid 60's a family friend owned an original 427; another owned an original small block; the small block enjoyed some SCCA road racing success; the big block was successful at drag racing, but not much else except (literally) scaring ths **** out of unsupecting passengers.
Make no mistake, both were simple, almost crude, brutal machines. How would either stackup against a C4 ? Well for beginners, a C4 could weigh almost a thousand pounds more....so wait a minute....could you repeat the question ?
