R there any main grounds direct to the frame and if so where are they located had new stereo installed and having some trouble with dash readings but I think it is more than likely in the grounding

I don't know about later years, but on my '86 the battery is connected directly from the negative terminal to the frame. The negative battery cable bolts to the side of the engine block and there is also a braided ground strap from the block to the frame. Kind of redundant.

When I fitted my new system I just spliced into the existing loom that supplied the original Bose unit, it was interesting to see how few wires were needed for the new head unit, didnt have to find a separate ground.
For the new Amp (in the back) I had to run a power cable to it direct from the Battery, so the easiest thing to do was run TWO cables, the other being for the ground, straight back to the battery, cant go wrong then!
