hyperchip
installed a hyperchip in my 85 c4...but now after changing the IAC it starts hard, throws a service lite...if I restart,,, lite goes out...I believe I can't read the code with the hyperchip in...got some feed back that maybee chip isn't all it's cracked up to be....can I read the code withthe hyperchip???? didn't have this problem before installing the IAC

I would remove the chip and put the stock chip back in. My past experience (before finding the Forum) with the chip was very poor. The most you will gain would be turning on the fans earlier. You will not see any HP gains. And your current problem might be chip related.
Put the stock chip back in and see if your problem goes away. It is a (almost easy standing on your head to get to the computer) easy change. Be sure to disconnect the battery before you unplug the ECM.

Have you tried pulling the codes to see what is present?
FWIW ,
there is no feedback to generate a code ( SES light ) if the IAC is not working or set correctly

success!!!!! I reset the IAC and it now starts in a mili second and purrs like a kitten..thanks so much for the help. And in reference to the chip....with the stock chip, Im running 215-220 + in traffic in the heat of s florida...with the chip, and a 160 thermo...it's running 185-190 at lights. seems like quite a difference...
