T/S Progress
After nearly 2 years of T/S I have finally made progress on the performance issues with my 89. It had idling issues, poor performance, hard starting issues and in the past few months wasn't even running above 1600rpm. After following a lot of recommendations from this forum and methodically checking vacuums, fuel pressures, etc. and using a data logger to watch the engine readouts. We isolated it to a bad ECM, replaced it and amazingly 90% of the issues have been resolved! It idles right on the money, much more power and it is running smoothly at all rpms.
I did have the engine smoke tested and have identified a Throttle body leak and the Intake manifold gaskets are leaking as well. So those are next. For those of you that are struggling with your C4 performance. Don't give up, be methodical and eliminate items 1 at a time. Oh yeah and listen to the advice you receive here
