I used to own a 77 and the interior heat was overbearing, caused by the ambient heat from the engine. I am considering a c4, but want to know about the interior heat first. Do your c4 vettes get hot inside?

I have a 96' with the Electronic Climate Control and set it to auto. It blows air up or down where, when and as fast as needed to maintain the preset temp. It does nearly blow you out of the car when you first start it on a hot day. It tries to purge all the hot air out first then settles down to a point you don't even know its on. I find it to be quite pleasant.
I think it gets a bit hotter than my other vehicles. The sides of the tunnel will get warm and hot air will come up through the cup holes in the console! LOL
Before I installed the new 383 I installed heat shielding in the trans tunnel. Makes a difference.
BTW - Nothing that would prevent me from purchasing a C4.... unless it was a C7
No, they did a really good job on insulating the heat out of the car...
The only time that it is really hot Inside is when you are stock in traffic with the targa and A/C off and the fans are pushing the heat from the engine but there is nothing to compare with C3. (I had 2)
Then if you close the side glass and put the A/C on it will cool you down way quicker than a C3 too...
I had a '71 and a '78 and I would use a thick towel for insulation under my right foot when I went to Arizona in the summer. Don't need that with the '86.
Thanks much for the help. I can remember my feet being on fire in my 77, after new and much insulation. It was not pleasant.
A concern in getting a c4 is the horsepower limitations of the earlier cars. I believe that in the mid 90's the horse power increased even in the base models... is that true. The only other concern is the electronic digital gauges... do they last or fail often? I know these seem like stupid questions, but I do appreciate your input. Thanks so much...
