My "91" Vette has the INFL REST (Inflatable Restraint) light intermittently blinking on the center dash display panel.
I've read about the "90" Vette "infl rest" problem but, there are No codes stored at all. I've already tried the 3 second ground and ungrounding of port "K" on the ALDL but, the light continues to show.
Do I need to clean and reground the "infl rest" sensors to get rid of this light?...I thought GM fixed this with the dielectric grease on the 91-96 Vettes?...
I thought that the "flashing" was part of the "bulb check" but only for later years. I believe the first thing I'd do is try to clear the CCM codes using the DIC and the LED in the speedo I'd make notes on all of the codes that you recover also and note also if they're H-history or C-current. The clearing of the CCM through the DIC is quite simple. If you're not familiar with it:
Clearing procedure is maybe 1/3 way down this document:
