I might just get myself in the wringer for this post, as I have posted once before on this same subject. , but here goes anyway. I am still totally amazed of the reliability factor that my 94 six speed coupe has. I know that this is not my daily driver and is just a fair weather weekend toy, but every time I start it up and drive it I cannot believe it is a 19 year old car. Case in point; the car sat in it's home in the garage for right at three weeks. When I parked it, I knew the battery was getting weak and not gonna last much longer. You guessed it, I tried to start it and it was a no go. Pulled the battery and purchased the replacement Interstate brand - always had good luck with them - and installed. Hit the ignition switch and after the usual two cranks of the starter the LT1 busted right off and ran like a champ. I personally believe that the Opti-Spark gets a bad rap in certain circles, but I also believe that this is the reason why my Corvette has the fastest starting engine I have ever owned. Drove around town to get fluids at operating temps and put it back to bed. I have no doubt that the next time I hop in and want to take it out I will have the usual reliability and no issues what so ever. Feel free to chime in with your own opinions.
My 43K miles LT4 is reliable as rock too, it is connected to the battery tender with the hood open when parked in the garage after any nice weather day (the car as never sees a rain drop) maintained with care and oïl changed yearly even if i only do 1K miles in the summer...
Some daily driver high miler will on us!
I have a 91 vert Polo Green with 82k on it . I plan to take it from Palm Springs Ca. over to Sedona Az. next month , about a 350 mile trip one way and I am looking forward to cruising up through the mountains. A very reliable car.

You need to get a battery tender so it will stay in the float mode.I had your problem until I purchased the battery tender and now it can sit for 3 weeks without any problems although during the summer I use it more frequently

I couldn't agree more! I have a 94 torch red, six speed coupe as well and every single time I take her out I fall in love a little bit more.
Someday, someone will have to pry her out of my dead, cold hands but until then, I am going to wear her out!
I daily drive my 6-spd '92 in New England, all seasons, and I race it every other weekend. It has 124k miles and hasn't given me a problem yet! (knocks on wood)
I've only had my 95 Green Machine coupe for a few months but I drive her often and she's never missed a beat... starts quickly, runs very strong at 106k miles, and is in good condition having received regular maintenance and replacements/repairs, which I believe is key to reliability. Almost anything will last a long time if taken care of. I'm now changing all the fluids before taking her on a 1300-mile adventure down & up the California coast, and to be honest I'm more concerned about getting a flat tire and less concerned about the reliability of the car. Pretty solid so far... we will see how she rates in the long-term.
My '95 Polo Green Coupe has 150k+ miles on it, and I've had very few powertrain issues. There is a vibration issue that I need to resolve, but all-in-all, it is a very reliable car.
I daily drove my 94' 6 speed from 92k miles to 115k miles (I have a company vehicle now). Aside from normal maintenance, and tinkering with a few things over and over, I haven't put an absurd amount of money into it. I did go through the ringer chasing oil leaks, some I fixed, some still sort of seep. I've replaced the opti, twice. If it goes again I will splurge for a Petris vented. Other than that I have only replaced the water pump and clutch. I think I would feel comfortable driving it across country. Drives smooth, is quiet at speed, and is super comfy. They are just great cars, and at the end of the day, you have a simple SBC under the hood that is easy to work on. I love when people come up and tell me at a gas station that it must be a pain to work on a Corvette because of the constrained spaces, then I pop the clam shell hood and they take back that statement pretty quickly.
