the batteries in these things are a cake walk to get compared to a lot of other vehicles and I say again there is nothing special about working on these cars

compared to what? the batteries are buried underneath the ECM, and require the removal of either that or the side panel to get out.
every other car i have owned you just pull up and out comes the battery
not trying to start a braw here but why would he need a battery tender anyway? and tenders are generly not made to bring a dead battery up to charge they are designed to maitain the charge. to charge a batter you need a charger. To me there is no reason to have a tender on the car unless it sits for a month at a time. These things are not special I dont see or here of people puting a tender on any of the other cars they drive
I know you not Hooked, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I use my CTEK charger/maintainer when I won't be using my Corvette for long periods of time. If I was able to drive it everyday then I would not need it. As i explained in my previous post the CTEK will charge and maintain, it's not your $30 Harbor frieght piece of crap but thats another story. I dont want to hijack LORD.BAAL's thread so enough said.
try the batteries in an g30 van or the ones buried in a trunk how about the ones in a 93 lumina I could go on and on it takes less then 10 min to pull a battery out of your car I have seen where it takes 2 people and almost an hour to pull a battery.

Takes 10 minutes to get a battery out through the side. Far easier than some cars

ha i suppose.. but i like your advise way more.. i ended up using one of those chargers and it started up fine without having to deal with hooking it up to another car, and risking the possibility of overloading the ecm or some other electronic part on the car.
better safe then sorry! i am going to go out and buy my own in case i do it again, i wish there was a warning noise when you opened the door with the running lights on so i would remember..

There is no real "possibility of overloading the ECM". I'm glad that you were able to avoid a danger/risk that doesn't exist. WHEW!

The car actually does have that feature. So if yours doesn't, something isn't working properly.

thanks Tom I was going to tell him that he does have that feature also but darn people ask for honest input and they mock you it is hard to keep answering
People need to stop overthing these cars they operate no different then any other car you drive or have driven. the foundation of these car are pretty basic. Some make way more out of it then what it rreally is.

any idea why it would stop working, cause i went out and checked and there is nothing for either of the lights being on whether the car is on/off key in or out, no warning noise..
could it be a fuse or an electrical problem?
another item to the long list of things i need to get around to fixing...
Another place I'd question right away is do your dome lights come on when you open the door? I.e. are the door switched working?
yes those do work, well the passenger door plug has some issues but some serious amount of electrical tape on the door wall fixed the issue with it not being pressed down all the way. other then that the lights all work fine and come on the second the door is opened. also the car alarm works as well, i set it off playing with the locks and the lights.
Had to jump start mine last Friday, replaced the battery, then drove it 300 miles, on Saturday, with no problems. Concerning a tender, my neighbor uses one on his chevelle that he may only start every month of two. He said it keeps the battery at a level so he can start it anytime.
