I have exhaust, drive shaft, c beam and all (5) trans-to-bell bolts removed. I can't seem to slide the trans out. I manage to get about 3/4 inch gap but that's it.
I assume the trans will need to slide out (parallel to ground) to disengage and then lower it down. Should I be working it out at a sloped angle?
Do I need to support to the motor in front of the trans while removing and after removing?
Thanks. I'm working into the clutch. ALMOST THERE!
If you removed the shifter you can slide the trans straight back and as long as you keep everything lined up it will come right out, (as long as you keep the back of the engine from wanting to sit down on the input shaft). If you didn't remove the shifter, you will have to lower the trans to clear the shifter and will generally bind the input shaft into the clutch friction disk and have to contend with that.

Reason: Too early in the morning lol
You got it. Motor was sitting on input shaft. Thanks.
There is a cable coming off the top of the trans. One set of instructions I have refer to a "tv cable" I bet this is it. I didn't see where that "tv cable" goes. Can you help? What does it do anyway?
