not that I am skeptical, well, okay, I am. My LT4 has a DRM 480 383 stroker, 480hp/500ft lbs torque, and maybe once or twice EVER have I gotten 20mpg out on the open road, and then only because I was driving it nicely.

and you claim 26mpg highway????? Seriously??, gotta know whaat you are doing that I am not.

Just cruising at 65-70 mph with a 2:59 rear..I bet your rear gear ratio is lower then mine... Plus your running about 90 hp more then I am, our engines aren't even close to being the same....You didn't think that extra 90 hp was going to be free did you???......My engine was built to be a mild 383 , everything in it is conservative, that's the difference and that's why I get 26 mpg highway..... ...WW

There is an eliminator kit you can buy that allows removal of the pump while using of the original belt. Once the pump is gone you can remove the rest of the system along with the piping that goes into your exhaust manifolds and warps around the front of the engine. Then doing a simple TB by pass of the water inlet and capping it off, the front and side of your engine are much cleaner and easier to work on.

yepper, I see the differences now. had just read the "383" part. with the manual trans the gearing is certainly much different.

well, I hope you have as much fun with yours as I do with mine. no, I never thought the hp was free to operate, I did want to compare notes with you though.

I would also check out the O2 sensors while I was working on it; once those loose functionality fuel usage usually goes up.

well i havent replaced the cts but i removed the old one and it clip just crumbled away and the end that touch the coolant had some rust spots on it so i hop that its it

Have you checked that the cats are not plugged up, that will kill the gas mileage and power.

i dont have cats any more they true duels straight pipe for exhaust manifolds back also on your smog pump removal does your engine light stay on cause of it or did you have to tune it out

No removal of pump dose not throw a code.
