1990 Corvette Jacking Points

I know that the best place to jack the car up is on that designated frame lip just after the front tires and just before the rears. The question is, how do I do that with a regular floor jack? Someone prior to me owning the car did that and cracked the fiberglass lip by the frame on the driver's side. Should I get a different jack? Or is there a way to use a floor jack without damaging anything? I already have Race Ramps, but I need to do the brakes. Also, I can jack the rear up on the differential housing, yes?
