Default Another PKE Thread

I have a 1993 LT1 that I bought a few years ago. When I bought it, the PKE system didn't work (still doesn't). I turn it on and the PKE light comes on and stays on. It does this until I take the key out and put it in again. I checked the 3 PKE fuses and they're all good. I also don't know if my transmitter is programmed because the system doesn't work. I also cannot get it into programming mode. I hit trip odo twice and hold fuel info and the light doesnt blink. Any ideas?

Thanks

Most likely the receiver unit is bad and neesd to be replaced. But what exactly do you mean by "I turn it on"? You turn the PKE system on? How?

No I meant I turn the ignition to on. (I'm Rob93LT1. Corvette forum will not let me sign in on my account)

The PKE does turn off and on by holding the button down. I have a convertible so it only has one button. If I hold it down until the locks cycle it will turn off. Do the same thing and it turn back on.

If I recall correctly:

1. Put your ignition key in the ignition. (BUT DON'T TURN IT TO THE ON POSITION.)

2. Hold down the "door" button on the key fob. (It has to be longer than a few seconds)

3. You should hear the locks cycling. (They will turn on and off) One setting is to unlock only the driver's door, the other is to unlock both doors.

4. Let up on the key fob button when you reach whichever setting you prefer.

My 93 coupe just started doing the same thing... The PKE system was working great until Friday night.
