Does anyone have a pic of a "Flat Black" early C4? I need to get my car repainted because some idiot hit my rear bumper and the paint didn't react to as well as my bumper did. The paint, instead of stretching with the bumper, it crinkled and is now flaking real bad. I have seen "Flat Black" on other cars, but never a vette and was wondering how it would look.
I like the Orange too. A friend of mine mentioned that Flat Black might look good so I was wondering what that would look like before I repaint my car, I will most likely paint it Orange again, but just didn't want to blow off my friend before I do. Another thing that I like about the Orange is, I have not seen another Orange vette. So, my car is very noticable. :seeya
Flat black? Have you thought about the fact that you can't Zaino, wax, etc. on flat black? Our Mustang has a flat black hood, and let me tell you, it's a PITA to keep it clean. Dust is more obvious on flat black than on gloss black, and also water marks. When you dry it the streaks from the towel show up BIGTIME, and you have to go over the hood with a spray bottle and a cloth to get rid of them. I don't know about a car that's ALL flat black. If you don't mind the maintanence then go for it.
I wanted a 55 chevy in flat black with flames. I talked to my body guy who was sayin you cant put clearcoat on it or it wont look flat. Without clear there wont be much protection and it would be very tuff to maintain. Plus the tires, trim and handles will blend in, which could look cool. See if a shop will sprat black primer / sealer on it then if you dont like it you can put color on it. :)
Flat black has that "unfinished" look. Cool for a hot rod. Not cool for a C4. Put a finish on that car that makes it look like it's dripping wet. :yesnod:
