1989 question / help
My car has developed a rough idle 7>15, and " chugging " especially when we first start out . Also , it pops / back fires . It has died during idle too.
IF it is easy fix I'm good but otherwise it goes back to a mechanic.

Fuel, air, and spark? hmm, ohm the injectors, and do a leak down down test (put fuel pressure gauge on rail, pressurize, and watch it leak down over 1 hour, more than 10 lb lose post up) on the fuel system.

89' Otcme
of the previous owners had set the car up as a street racer : ( holes
in the manifold ) for NO , 24# psi injectors ,cam and shaved heads and possibly
up graded pistons . She runs like a top but I can't drive her due a eye
eye operation the wk she was fixed. Oh, the injectors were replaced with 19# psi from a 302.
