I always loved the copper metallic 1994 C4. Sad to see this one rotting away in a field. I can't take on a project now, maybe someone here can rescue this. Price looks right at $3500.
Wonder what the driverside and interior look like.. I would love a project.. it is a bit high considering the state according to the highly detailed listing
Sorry, guys. I didn't see the part about the engine and trans being out of the car. I was blinded by the color I guess. No way that's worth $3500. Overpriced like most of the Vettes on CL.
LT1 and trans are "fresh built". If it was local. I'd be looking at it.
I agree. Really depends on the rest of the car. So long as it hasn't become a wildlife preserve. But if the engine is as described and the trans still good, that's almost $3,500 right there.

It used to be you could trust people with a hand shake but these days if i cant see it run i assume it doesn't. I would be willing to shell out $2800 if I knew I was not being Obamad.
It is a neat car, and I 'll bet $3000 or less would buy it. If it wasn't copper, I would say no, but those cars don't usually go cheap if you can find one.
I'm actually going to look at this today. It's close to me and I have a truck that can haul it and the motor/trans. I got some more pics, the interior is dirty as is the rest of the car. My main concern at the moment is being able to tell decidedly if the car is factory origiginal copper. Can someone please advise how i can do so? Also, I have a 78 so the 94 is a completely different monster. What else should I be looking for as far as expensive missing pieces? Thanks for the replies!

Well, the car needs paint on three panels. The motor and transmission are out of the car supposedly rebuilt but no documentation or receipts and it needs a torque converter because the engine was built with a lt4 hot cam. I have to assume that the engine will not operate or the transmission due to the fact that there is no documentation on the rebuild. I offered him 2000 cash and he said he has an offer standing of 2800. 2800 is really risky for this car because the only reason it's worth any money is the paint and guess what, it needs to be completely redone. Oh well. I did my part in trying to save this thing but the guy who owns it is being ridiculous about the mystery motor and transmission he put "3200" into.

If you have the storage space and extra cash then this may be a pretty good time to buy this car. Go back in mid December and pull out your roll. He might be ready by then.
I have been around long enough to see the "appreciation wave" roll through the earlier Corvettes. It may be another 10-15 years but our C4s values will be rising. I think it is a good time to buy some of the rare ones that are out there.
Examples: Doc I worked with traded in a 54 on a new 82. They gave him $1,400 in trade! Old high school buddy was trying to sell me his 57 vert, 3-speed when I got home from the Army in 1969. Wanted $750! Saw a 62 fuelie for sale in a gas station in 1973 for $2,500!
I looked at a Baldwin Motion 68 vert in 1992. Guy wanted $12,000!
If someone had the time and space to put it back together and make a track car out of it, that $2,800 is money well spent. To purchase the car to put back to a street car, I think it would cost too much in the long run. There would probably be $8K plus spent easily. At this current market could probably find a nice running C4 for that.
I don't know about others but personally I am always a bit antsy when a motor has been modded or "upgraded". I think I'd feel more comfortable with a stock original motor that is tired and needs work. If somebody else has been through it and replaced this and that I'm always wondering why it's not back in the car and running. Problems, maybe?
