The oil from the K&N will dirty up your MAF sensor wires. You'll need to keep and eye that and make sure to keep them clean.

I doubt the K&N will get you any power. It can be cheaper though. mine has 150,000 miles on it.

IMHO, if you're going to run the K&N, save your old paper filter and run it for a week after you clean and oil the K&N while it dies out a bit.

From all the study's I have seen a good clean paper filter will flow the same as a K&N.

A few years ago I remember reading a test result where the K+N and paper filters flow about the same when new , but as the paper gets dirty it loses some of it's flow, while the K+N retains almost full flow when getting dirty...WW

I'm returning my car to stock and selling the K&N filter if anyone wants it. Like new.

To be honest the only negative I have heard about the K+N filters is that they can foul your MAF sensors.. This is not the fault of the filter, but happens because to much oil is sprayed on the filter and is then blown onto the MAF sensor.. This is one of those times when less is better, you just want to mist the filter, not saturate it...Im sure these filters work because many on here use them.. It's just easier for me to buy a Puralator air filter and put it in...I also have a brand new K+N filter that came on my 89 when I bought it sitting in a box in the garage.......WW
