Ask a mod. Maybe they saw that the C5 and C6 Gen has had the same exact thread going for a couple of days now.
Im pretty sure a certain cf member was whining about me postin something they didnt like or agree with in c4 general discusion.
Personally I think paul walker was a great actor, a terrific father, and a avid car enthusiast who brought a lot back to the car scene that was dwindling greatly since the 70s.
I can say a thousand possitive things about the man, but if you are to stubborn, or if you judge a book by its cover, so to speak, then you wont understand anyway.

I know you mean me, and didnt complaint about your non-C4 post. Your opinion is just that, an opinion. I say it again, this crap got nothing to do with Corvettes at all. He was racing a Porsche on the streets. If he would be racing on a track he would still be alive.
I guess the forum changed it's rules, in the past you start anything non-C4 related and the thread would be moved, locked or erased. This is good to know I wonder if all other locked non-C4 threads will also be unlocked.

Exactly!
From the looks of that car, he wasn't just doing a simple donut.
For the car to be completely cut in half like that, they were moving at a pretty good speed.
Based on the amount of damage had to be at least 80mph probably more. After all it was a 45mph zone, so why would a crash at 40mph cause that to happen. If a car would rip and half and explode at that low speed it would not be safe for the road and should not be allowed on US highways.
Forum rules have changed the last couple of months, you can revive threads also as long as they are relevent.
And street racing videos and now allowed.
Maybe I should post some so all the people on here that act like they never took their corvette out for joyrides or did anything wrong in their car can whine about that too.

I made a post to talk about someone who was a true car guy and made a huge impact on the younger generation as far as the car scene goes. Sorry if it doesnt meet your criteria for this forum. It wont happen again.
Also the last time I checked, doing doughnuts in a parking lot was far from racing but hey, maybe im wrong.

RIP.
I know at least guys in my age group that were introduced to cars because of the F&F movies.
(I was 15 when the first movie came out)
Maybe more. Cars went from being transportation for quite a few kids, to being something to really appreciate and love. I can't begin to tell you the number of kids that started fantasizing about cars like the Eclipse, RX-7, even the CRX, the Charger after those movies.
F&F really fed the tuner movement in general. Some of us were already car guys by default. (My dad was a gearhead. I grew up around cars!) But I remember the shift around here when people became interested in those movies back then.

I think majority of the population in the c4 community cant relate or understand the connection the younger enthusiasts have with the F&F movies and also Paul Walker.
I couldn't agree with Aaron anymore in his view of how the F&F movies turned the tuner community from a small group of guys (especially here in Michigan) to such a large group of automotive enthusiasts. Yes, in the beginning it was slapping a stupid big exhaust on a crappy civic, but that turned around over the years and now there are "tuner" cars that can run just as hard as the big boys.
I've always been an American v8 kind of guy (hence my c4) but I've also been part of the "tuner" community since I could drive, and have learned all my mechanical skills from those experiences. I'd even go as far to say that's why I studied to be an engineer and why i'm working with future American v8's today.
not to be funny but I don't think a c4 would fall apart like that. and I don't care if it was faster or whatever. just saying. sad to hear of these car guys passing.

Never seen a FF movie. No interest.mhad no idea who the guy was. But he and the driver put the lives of others at risk by street racing or parking lot racing or whatever and that is unacceptable. I feel for their families but they should have kept it on the track.
He was one of my favorite actors. I am deeply saddened. I turn 22 today, Paul just turned 40. Last month I was with my buddy (ironically named walker) and we were in my 72 C3 and we had a severe wreck. brushed a tree, telephone pole, slid off road and jumped a culvert before slamming into it. Another buddy of mine crashed there 3 weeks prior and he did not walk away. Luckily Walker and I walked away with minor injuries. When I found out about Paul Walker, I cried. After a month from my wreck, I am still crying. Don't judge me as a weak or a baby kinda guy. I nearly died, and my buddy wasn't far from it. The fact that he could have died really still scares me. My vette is trashed, frame damage, etc. I am going to repair it, as part of many lessons learned. I used to street race, but I am walking away from that. If I don't, next time I fear will turn out a lot like Paul's crash. RIP PAUL WALKER. Jesus saves, review my crash site and it is obvious. It was just his time.
Hate to hear anyone dying in a crash. one would think that a driver with any kind of track experience would have better judgement than to push a car hard on the street. And, if they were in an clear frame of mind could have an idea of the limit of control of the vehicle. But unfortunately s**t happens and push'n the limit should be kept on the track in a safe environment. RIP and Prayers to the families of the deceased.
