Default Another lowering question

My 92 needs to be lowered. The current gap between the top of the tire and the fender is 3". I need to lower it by 1 1/2" to 2". The MAM lowering kit states it will lower about 1". If using this kit, what else needs to be removed to achieve lowering 2"?

I have read that coil overs are adjustable. If they are, by installing coil overs can I achieve lowering the front by 2"?

If using coil overs, do you need to do anything with the transverse spring and the MAM lowering kit?

Are coil overs compatible with FX3 selective ride control?

As always, appreciate any feed back and suggestions. Thanks

If using coil-overs the factory transverse springs are eliminated. Some coil-over conversion kits are FX3 compatible. Conversion is the important consideration here, an after-market that is intended for a specific shock such as QA1 or something other than the Bilstein is NOT.

The best money I've spent thus far has been for coil-overs. I went with the VanSteel setup. Quality pcs and 99% direct bolt on.

I've got about 1"-1.5" gap between tire and fender lip with Mid America lowering wedge and bolts.

Thanks for the input, suggestions and info.

I went to Van steel Friday and spoke to them about coil overs and the wedges. They were nice enough to spend some time with me and walk through the shop and show me all of the different set ups. They explained to me that the front mono springs in the C4's had different spring rates and were all coded. I think he said there were 4 codes, and each code would determine how many shims they would install in the center under the spring. Is this correct? If so, how do you find out the code and determine how many shims were used?

I know, take it apart and look, but depending on how many shims and thickness of shims plus lowering wedge may help me decide on the lowering wedge set up or coil overs, and the coil overs are not cheap. Thanks for the help
