I just wanted to ask about shock replacement. My question is along the lines of because of the electronic suspension can I replace my rear shocks this paycheck with some KYB and then next check the front ?? What will happen ? Or do I just need to hold off until I can do the whole car ? Stupid question I know
Sure you can but why not just buy the fronts this check and the rears next check then put them all on at the same time. They won't go bad sitting in your garage. Also I'd stick with the Bilsteins myself

Is the SRC light on? What are the codes? IMHO, it's worth fixing the FX2 system. Bilstein can rebuild the shocks and replace the small gear at the top of the shock rod. The actuators can be found with a little work.
If you want to go with standard shocks, I would definitely recommend Bilstein shocks over the KYB's. If you do have to buy shocks a pair at a time, then buy when you can and install all 4 at the same time.
I bought KYB shocks to replace the shot out original Bilsteins on the front. It made an amazing difference but considering the condition of the originals anything would have been an improvement. While Bilsteins may be OEM buy what you can afford and as long as you buy them in pairs and it doesnt matter when you replace them. The above advice is great but is all best case scenario and the most expensive. Do what you can afford to keep that bad boy on the road.
I would certainly recommend checking the codes IF your replacement is only because you have DIC warnings. If you've got an actual shock issue then certainly you could replace them with whatever product you'd like but without finding out what's the problem I'd say it's foolish.
I'm with doing them "all" at one time. An exception might be if you had an actual shock failure, broken mount or something of that sort.
OP - some of us have assumed you have the FX3 suspension. Do you have or are you maybe assuming "ALL" '94 were so equipped?

I think they all mostly do , but have seen some with out.
No codes
Reason I am changing them is because the rears are leaking. And the front are weak. They are only worth a damn in sport , in touring they bottom out and bounce around.
I have heard good reports on KYB and most of the Corvette guys say that they are more than happy. Plus it is basically like being in sport mode all the time I guess?
Also I was having some weird issue with the rear shocks being stuck up in the air and taking a day or two of driving to settle back down again , beats me ???? Idk wtf that is all about and really as old as the car is even if I went with trying to repair that old of a system something else would go wrong. And really for what ? Most stock shocks are better by design than this OE system on its best day.
