Default Electrical Connectors

Hi everyone. I have a 96 coupe auto. Everytime I touch on of the plastic connectors they crumble or snap off. Where can I go to get as many different types of connectors that I can change. I don't want one connection that snapped to fail and take forever trying to figure out what happened.

Summit and some parts shops carry the stock style connectors with pigtails as in above link
Possibly local and cheaper

This is the official AC Delco connector site:

http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/pi/wiring-connectors/

They don't sell any there, but you can use the part number to search for a source.

In the rear of the electrical section of the FSM there's reference and a description of most of the connectors throughout the car, NOT all but most. If there's nothing wrong with the terminals in your connections most can be salvaged with the purchase of only the shell/connector less the terminals. There are exceptions to those that are easy. There are "pull to seat" which would require you to cut the wires, pass them through the new shell/connector apply terminals and then "pull to seat". It is still not difficult.

"VetteOz" linked to EFI is likely more valuable than the ACD link because they also offer empty connector/shells and terminals. They are NOT the only source but connectors/terminals require some experience and research.

In the EFI link click "buy pieces" for the components. Wire sizes are all Metric and the FSM schematics offer that information. EFI is a rather valuable research "tool". Components can be purchased elsewhere.

I can see no reason to "stockpile" them - learn about them and sourcing will become much less difficult. If you destroy a terminal or two a "knowledgeable" GM parts guy should be able to help you.

Quality crimping devices are required for quality repairs.

This is a good site for electrical and mechanical items. Go to the left side of the page and hover over the electrical items choice on the menu and a sub-menu will appear with more choices. Various crimpers you may need to complete your repairs are also listed on this site.
