I accidentally made this poll locked, I meant to leave it open. I tried to be comprehensive when I made the choices. Feel free to add to the poll in the form of a reply. Sorry! :(
I bought a 96 LT4 car because I love the way Corvettes handle (and they're fast too), I like the later C4s, and I really wanted the LT4 engine. I wanted a car that would be competetive in its autocross class (a C5 is definately NOT unless it is a Z06, which I can't afford) and I didn't want anything that would be slower than my previous car (98 LS1 Camaro SS). I Love vettes, I like C4s a lot. They are just pimpy... clam shell hood, parking brake is on the left, I feel like I'm in a cockpit when I'm in the car, PKE is cool :) That pretty much sums it up for me...
The 1984/85 Corvette just excited me from the time it was introduced. When the 85 model came out it looked just like the 84 with the exception it had that artistically designed plenum in the engine compartment that made the car complete.
I had to get me a Black 84/85 & I did. I will be adding a black 84 to my collection very soon to compliment my 85.

Re: Your C4 (GDP)
I was looking for one with a body I liked and I couldn't afford the pre-1975 cars. Disliked the 75 - 82 style (but its grown on me now), and really hate the back end of the C5. So we found this one on some dealers lot where it had been sitting for months, made a great deal on it and have had it for over a year.
I love the looks of the later C4s, clamshell hood is sweet. C5s are cool too but I hate the fat butt. I may consider buying one once the C6 comes out, but I will keep the C4 forever :yesnod:
While shopping for a used C5, I came across this '96CE Vert, and I decided I would rather have a Special C4 like this, rather than buy a '97 or '98 C5 that there are so many of.
I've always wanted a Corvette, and I was initially looking at the C3, but soon realized that a C4 was best price vs performance.
I was looking for an 80-81 4 speed car, and while I love the body, and the price is right, it is cramped inside, rides and sounds like a pickup, and has pathetic power. Granted, the ride and power can be remedied, but once I found a gorgeous blue c4 in my favorite year for c4s, I just had to have it. It had none of those problems, and a good body to boot.
