Hello, I apologize in advance if this is a newbie question, I just want to ask before I do something stupid
Anyway, my battery terminal side mount bolt (on the negative side) is rounded. I can still loosen the bolt to unhook the cable from the battery. I just want to replace the bolt, hopefully not the whole negative cable. Can I simply just pull the bolt from the cable and replace it with a new one? Thank you

Yes you can so long as it's an OE/GM or quality cable. If it's had an after-market cable replaced then maybe not. Do NOT use a simple bolt, make sure you actually buy an S/T battery bolt. It might be the time to do maybe both. You can buy extended bolts also and make it much easier to either use a battery tender or some diagnostic tools.
I plan on buying a pair from Corvette Central, i'll just do both. How can I tell if the cable is of good quality? Do GM battery cables have GM markings on them, I currently can't check because I am not at my house. Thank you!
Be careful when buying a new battery terminal bolt. If the threaded part is too long it can break the battery case when it's screwed in and cause battery acid to leak out. You won't be able to see it, but it will eat up your battery cable.
