LCD question
Can someone tell me about the digital display for the speedometer, do these things break and what exactly happens when they do? Mine appears all cloudy, can still read it but not normal. Happened after sitting in the sun all day Wednesday, does heat have an effect on them.???

They do break. The majority of problems lies with the soldered connections. Many times, they will fail because of a poor ground connection. But if it is cloudy, it may be moisture trapped between the panels. You can do a search on dash panels and find a multitude of discussions on the topic.

I have an LCD screen on my DIAD(UPS term), anyway it resembles the screen of a Snap On scanner. If I leave it in the sun for more than a few minutes it will "cloud" up as you say.
The digi dash in the early C4's do go out.
My buddy has an '88 with 70,000 miles and his dash is starting to go.

The sun shouldn't really affect your LCD panes. They are behind a layer of blueish polarized glass. Does it look like it is "bleeding". If the colored #s appear to be getting wider, then you have a cracked LCD pane that is bleeding out its liquid crystal.
