When I bought my 90 two years ago it would get a SES light and code 32 everytime I drove it on the highway. Not a problem but I decided to fix it the other day. So here's what happened after replacing the EGR valve:
1. My problem with the dimming inst. cluster is gone.
2. I haven't seen my TPWS system light in days.
Both the above occurred all the time. I just figured a loose or dirty ground somewhere. But strangely neither occurs any more.
The only other thing I've touched was the battery posts when I worked on the starter a week earlier. Any time I disconnect the battery for any reason both the posts get cleaned and in this case there was no corrosion but I still cleaned them. After cleaning the battery posts after the starter was reinstalled I still had the TPWS system light and a dimming cluster. The battery gage on the cluster always indicates (probably 14 volts or thereabouts) normal.
Is there something in the ECM that fixed itself after finally curing the code 32?
The ECM does not call for EGR untill you have been cruzin' at steady speed for a (?) while and coolant temp is >175deg F.
I actually knew that. My point was in addition to the SES and code 32 fix with the new EGR valve the TPWS light and dimming cluster problems have gone away too.
