Hello everyone, I just purchased a Grand Sport and after I got home I was looking at the build sheet and window sticker and the build sheet says it has RED interior, Y01 and the window sticker says BLK/RED interior.
THE CAR HAS BLACK INTERIOR!
The VIN is a grand sport and I have all the paperwork and everything so I don't believe it could be a fake or anything, that being said:
-could they have made an error on the build sheet?
-could they have ran out of RED and built the car with black?
-could someone have swapped interiors after it was built?
-anything you can suggest or help me with, PLEASE!

I am very confused but also very worried.
THANK YOU!
195 is a black interior and 705 is the red/black. Could they have been changed? Maybe? Not familiar with the Y01 you mention. What is in BLOCK 55 - 19I? Does SPID label show 19I and then 195 directly following or is there a 705 there?
You mention "worried"? Might be late if the deal is done you've the car and someone else "your money".

Yep, the build sheet says 701, which I translated to RED.
To previous owner said he knows nothing about it. I joined the registry and hoping the get previous information from them, it just confuses the hell outta me!
I am nervous something fishy may have gone on, I spent a lot on the car just want to make sure it is what it is.

There is no 701 - 705 is GS only blk/red. There is a 70I and that is a red interior. Are you sure all of your documents match? What does the SPID label say? Does the VIN match on all three documents?
What is the last eight digits of the VIN? T5XXXXXX

The GS Registry should be able to help with the correct information regarding the interior color. I don't think that there was a possibility of the Assembly Plant running out of material.
It's possible that a previous owner could have swapped out the various interior pieces, but that would be a big job and expensive too.
Have you looked here? The GS Registry has this list of the 1000 cars and includes the interior color. Also look at this page for the RPO codes. I would expect that the GS Registry website will have accurate data.
Are both the build sheet and window sticker original to the car or are they from the National Corvette Museum? It's possible that there could be an error, but the data that the NCM uses to produce their documents comes directly from GM.

I contacted the person from this forum who sold it to me and he said he has no idea why it has black instead of red.
I would guess that the "red" seating being quite valuable the seats were swapped for a fairly substantial amount of "cash" if in fact the SPID and build mentions "RED"!
So is the best explanation you think? Someone changed it over?
So then it makes my car far less valuable?? Maybe I got hosed here?
At this point unless you bought the car as an investment which may or May not give you a return on your money in 10 or 20 years, I
Would drive and enjoy the car. You knew it had black interior when you bought it.

I absolutly will but the car is bone stock and I would love it if the interior was as well. It has black grand sport seats but just not the red
