Default Radiator Drain Plug

I flushed the radiator on 86 c4 and now it appears that the drain plug is leaking. Has anyone experienced this before?

I haven't, but my son has on his 85. seems to me he bought a new drain plug at autozone, or advanced auto. must have worked, since he never said any more about it.

Yes, it happened to me also. Exact same problem. I went to Advance Auto Parts and got a new plug, Any auto parts store should have it. It was only a few dollars and very easy to get the old one out and install a new one. No more leak!

For future searches:
I flushed my 95 a few days ago. The plug has a flat rubber washer on it that fits snugly over the center rod. A guy could go to the local hardware store and get a flat rubber washer and make it fit or maybe trim the outside & center out as needed.

Why would you want to McGiver something that there's an "over the counter" correct solution for?

This drain plug, it's actually a plug? Not a valve? I couldn't see it so I shop vacuumed coolant out.

It's actually a plug that unscrews. It's on the passenger side bottom corner of the radiator

I was afraid of breaking something. I think the shopvac got to the bottom of both tanks anyway.
