c4 vert top window replacement
Is a vert top wndow only replacement feasible??? In all other respects the top is in almost perfect condition,.. If so, can someone point me in direction as to where to purchase the replacement.. thnx carl

I had a C3 vert with a cracked rear window. I took it to an auto upholstery shop and they said they could only put in new plastic if they removed the entire top. Price was insane so I rented a VCR tape on how to remove/install a top. I took it off, gave it to the shop and they sewed in a new window. Turned out great!
I think you can purchase a DVD from Al Knoch Interiors on how to do this on a C4.

Somewhat related - only the opposite.
I recently removed my original glass window from my '94 white vinyl top and sent it to Al Knoch where they installed it in a brand new soft top.
I wanted to keep the original date codes and logo on the glass intact on the car.

I ran into this dilemma with the wifes 89 vert. The prices that I was getting to replace just the window were crazy. I wound up just having the whole top replaced and doing the glass rear window conversion at the same time. Well worth the investment. I do not know where in NY you are, but I had my top done in Linden NJ. They have done several cars for me and do great work at reasonable prices. PM me if you want their contact info.

Top situation
I had my 94 top replaced a few years ago and after one year the glass rear window had come loose from the top almost all around. Took it back to point of purchase and he said he talked to Al and agreed to replace top. When I went to pick up the car after about a week, the rear window was loose on the drivers side and about six inches along the top on the brand new top. The shop owner offered to refund my money at that point and said no more. I now have a top with a partially attached rear window. The owner of the the shop in Plano Texas kept referring to "Al" as his top supplier but never mentioned last name. I wonder if it was Knock? Can't seem to find quality work or parts anymore.
