I purchased new hood and rear emblems for my 1986 and the clear plastic over the logo keeps getting a white haze making the log difficult to see what causes this and what can be done to prevent it. Has anyone experienced this issue
I put new emblems when I painted and they "hazed" and them sections fell off. Unfortunately it was over a year later that I contacted the seller (won't name names - but a well known supplier). They would not do anything. SOL. Contact the supplier ASAP if possible.
got them from ecklers....whited out in a month in the s fl sun...took a pic...they sent me another one.....then I got a cover...took the white back out....looks like new again....haven't put the new one on....bet there's some kind of clear vinyl that'll keep the uv or ir rays outl..whichever one does it...
are you guys replacing the emblems with GM parts? I've replaced these emblems probably a half dozen times on various C4's, and never had a problem. I'm thinking current stock replacement emblems are plastic, and NOS hardware are metal.

I got mine from my local Chevrolet parts man and they were cheaper than most of the Corvette aftermarket suppliers and OEM.

I'm not sure what's going on with the C4 emblems, but the current part is a cheaper, plastic version still available through GM, and most likely made in china. (I'm thinking) TrimParts produces a quality reproduction, as good, or better than, the metal design originals.
I bought mine from Ekler's back in 07; metal frames with clear plastic. They're still like new, but the car is stored in the garage between outings. Maybe that has something to do with it - or the material could have been different back then too, I suppose.
Some car polishes claim to have some UV protection; NU FINISH, being one of them - and many others too. I wonder if applying some would have an affect on the clouding.
I just looked at trimparts....didn't know about it.....they look like they're alot better quality than the crap eckler's sent me...but still, a few days under the new cover, and the white went away......I always keep it covered when not in use, so I don't know how long it takes to white out again....nu finish may be a good bet....
