post a pic of what you have. everything I see on the later style window regulators is 87 thru 96. as a side note, I'm in the process of upgrading my 85 to the later style.

So you have an '87 with the ribbon style window mechanism? What is the Manufacture Date of your car?

I'm looking at some instructions from mid-America on the window regulator upgrade. it states "Retrofit Installation of 84-86 & 87 Coupe Regulator:" I wonder why only the 87 verts had the upgraded style - ???

My 87 had the ribbon. Born date September 86. When the drivers ribbon broke I bought the 86 replacement ribbon and just had to do a slight adjustment to make it fit. Maybe that adjustment was what everyone with an 84-86 has to do, not sure.
When the passenger ribbon snapped, I broke down and bought the newer all metal replacement ($200) and put it in. It was twice as fast up and down as the drivers window so even though it was a new ribbon, I bought the all metal replacement for the drivers side. Now, no worries about any ribbon breaking and both windows zip up and down in about 2 seconds.

One of those was the scissors type regulator for the pass side.
Any pass scissors regulator will fit the 86e door with NO modifications.
87's were free of ribbons.
If you need to replace the ribbon you can find this part on the emergency rack at the local parts stores.
It's listed for a Chrysler but it works just the same.

I have heard that Chryslers use the same ribbon and you can buy them in the HELP section at any auto parts store. It's called a "window regulator tape".

- I've replaced my 85 drivers side ribbon twice with those HELP parts - to be honest, I only got about 5 years, or so, from the first replacement part. as a side note, I'm in the middle of the drivers side PW upgrade on the 85. overall, a fairly easy job, though it is taking some time.
