I posted several days ago about how my newly purchased '88 coupe would intermittently not start even though it would turn over. the previous owner had spent a lot of money replacing various things trying to fix it. It left me stranded and I had it towed to a dealership. they were able to determine it was a funky ECM. They replaced it and it has never failed to start right up since! I was afraid that it would be a horror problem that would have no remedy. Now that I am "on the road" I will post some pictures and be looking forward to sharing info and vette experiences here with fellow forum members!

I had a 92 that wouldn't start when it was hot. Turned out the ECM on 92s and 93s had a flaw in the mother board that eventually caused a loss of circuitry when it got hot. It would work again after sufficiently cooling down. I replaced the mother board in the ECM and never had the problem again. It sounds similar to the problem you have had. Maybe the problem occurs in lots of C4s.

Yes! My start problem would occur after the engine warmed up to over 200 degrees1 when it cooled it would start right up. that is good to know for other members! Unless it fails when the technicians are trying to troubleshoot it they probably won't find it. the previous owner spent a lot of money trying to fix it before he finally got frustrated and decided to sell it. I haven't had one problem now, in 5 days of driving. I just had a new Pioneer stereo, amplifier and four new JL5 speakers put in it. will pick it up today...should sound great. My bose was shot and rear speakers were blown.
