OK, I am a brand new Corvette owner, and of course I want to start making mods for off the line performance. I am thinking Flowmaster mufflers, K&N filter and open the box (however that is done) a hypertech chip, and get rid of the frisbee (?). Any suggestions?
The Flowmasters do have an annoying resonance on the highway, but around townI don't mind them at all. They're not too loud for the neighbors at night, but sound real sweet when you get on it
If you search for Frisbee, you'll find a bunch of threads that detail just about every possible method of removing the little bugger... ;)
Hey Greg, first off welcome to the forum! Second I love my Flowmasters, I live in Hutto, just up the road from Cedar Park and if you wanna hear the Flowmasters just let me know. I would also agree with the other comments, you need to open the lid and get an exhaust on there it will make a difference, as for the Hypertech, from what I have read here on the forum I'm not sure you'll gain much.

Re: Flowmasters (91TurqC4)
Theres 2 types of flowmasters you ccan get. The 2 or 3 chamber models. The 2 chamber are rather loud. The 3's are what I have on mine and its a noticable change in sound from the stock muffs but not too loud at all while driving. The only negative Ive seen is that it has a bit of an irritating harmonic to it at under 2000 rpm in 6th gear. In any other gear or any other RPM all is beautiful.
Someone correct me if Im wrong but isnt the frisbee that useless 10 lb disk on the front of the water pump pulley? If so its just a few bolts to take it off.
Well.... I don't race it and I don't time it, so I'd be hard pressed to personally verify Flowmaster's claims, but, it sure put the squeal back into the 1-2 shift in an old slushbox :D
And at < $800 CDN for a complete cat-back, the price was right too. I know, I know, sounds expensive, but remember, that's works out to about the same as the return on six dozen beer cans down there.
I have the 2 chamber flowmasters and what a mistake. Outside of the car, they sound great. Inside is another thing. The resonance at low speeds is much too loud in the car. I should have installed the 3 chamber. The open lid and a K & N filter did, I think make a differance in responce.
Corsas cost more than Flowmasters. I have the three chamber flowmasters with Stainless steel tips. I love them. Gut your catalytic convertors and get the 3 chambers, remove the frisbee and get the K&N. My flows sound good outside of the car and good inside the car, and really good when you drop the hammer.
Welcome
I've done the K&N, open air box, smooth coupler, larger exhaust and hollowed the cats. Made a definate improvement in both sound and SOTP feel.
